A parish center (interim sanctuary) and classroom facility for a new parish in Elk Grove. The entire site for the new parish has been master-planned for a future sanctuary, additional classrooms, rectory, and sports fields. The building is constructed of concrete block with a split-faced exterior and sand-blasted interior face at the sanctuary; surrounding offices and classrooms are wood frame and plaster.
This Phase I sanctuary is designed to convert to a parish hall when the adjacent Phase II - 1,100-seat sanctuary is constructed. The building is sized to hold a high school basketball court and bleachers, with the addition of a full kitchen and adjoining dining/meeting room for 150 occupants. The design-build project was highly cost-effective, enabling delivery under a single design/construction contract.
