St. Christopher's Church

Lincoln Way
Galt, California

The first building of a 10-acre master-planned campus, the church’s exterior design reflects the City's request for "mission style" architecture along its main street. The interior design merges this theme with a modern liturgical plan that has a unique, yet very cost-effective, Phase II expansion feature.

The central Phase I sanctuary — surrounded by church offices and meeting rooms — seats approximately 500 occupants. When the Phase II parish hall is built, the surrounding uses will move to the new building, and the non-structural sanctuary side walls will be removed. This will allow the seating capacity to expand to 780 within the existing perimeter walls and roof.

Additional special features of the Phase I project include a large, walled, entry plaza, a wood trellis for local wine grapes, and the reuse of a large, stained-glass window taken from the original church building.
