
The project consisted of two new buildings including a 3,930 square foot one-story steel framed Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) building and a new 4,990 square foot one-story wood framed Administration building. The HHW building is used to segregate, consolidate and store wastes such as paint, oils, acids, and other hazardous materials that cannot be placed in the landfill. The facility had depressed segregated secondary containment vaults for six classes of hazardous materials along with an H occupancy room for flammable wastes. The building skin consist of a split faced masonry block wainscot and ribbed metal panels above along with metal roofing. It also has 2,870 square feet of exterior canopies used for both residential and commercial material drop-offs and depressed loading dock. The administration building has cement plaster walls and metal roofing. Interior improvements include a public lobby, conference room, and employee work as well as support areas. Both buildings had under-slab methane detection systems. The project included the construction of a new water storage tank, fire pump house and sewer pump lift station. Site improvements included a plaza and parking lot for the administration building.
