Challenge Accepted

CJA is proud to be part of the team behind this exciting project in El Dorado Hills—a new 62,000 sq. ft. charter school for the John Adams Academy campus serving grades K–12. The school was created through the adaptive reuse of an existing two-story office building located within the El Dorado Hills Business Park. 

The project includes 34 classrooms, featuring dedicated Art, Drama, and Choir rooms, as well as a Library. A standout element of the design is the innovative incorporation of a full-size gymnasium and multi-purpose room with a high school regulation basketball and volleyball court, along with a performing arts stage and bleacher seating—all accommodated within the existing office building structure. Integrating a full-size gym into a two-story office building presented a unique challenge and required a highly creative design solution.

Additional program elements include a Science Lab, Lunchroom, Administrative Offices, Nurse’s Station, Teacher Lounge, breakout rooms, and supporting auxiliary spaces.
